PDF compression is useful for scans, image-heavy reports, product sheets, and documents that need to be sent through email or messaging apps. Each level balances file size against image detail.
Compression creates a new PDF and does not modify the original. Keep the source file and review the download when a document contains important contracts, annotations, attachments, or forms.
Text-based or already optimized PDFs may have little removable data. The tool does not provide a result larger than the source file.
Extreme compression reduces image detail. Choose high quality for print documents and check key pages after download.
