Word translation for format-preserving document translation

Word Translate uploads a .docx file and translates it paragraph by paragraph with AI. Both body text and table cell content are processed, and translations are filled back paragraph by paragraph while preserving the original styling. A side-by-side original and translation preview is shown, and the translated .docx can be downloaded when finished.

Target languages include Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. Files are limited to 10MB and 500 paragraphs; paragraphs longer than 2000 characters are split at sentence boundaries automatically so no content is lost. Results stream in during translation for paragraph-by-paragraph review; tables, headers and footers, and complex layout elements should be verified after download.

Is my document uploaded to a server?expand_more

Yes, upload is required for server-side AI translation. Only submit files you are authorized to process, especially personal, confidential, or protected content.

Which target languages are supported?expand_more

Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean are available as target languages. The source language follows the uploaded document.

Is text inside tables translated?expand_more

Yes. Body paragraphs and paragraphs inside table cells are parsed and translated, and the translations stay in the correct cells when filled back.

Is the original layout preserved?expand_more

Translations are filled back paragraph by paragraph, keeping paragraph structure and styling as much as possible. Text boxes, headers and footers, comments, and tracked changes are outside the current scope and need review in Word after download.
